This Sunday Evening: Sloane Stephens' Story
Sloane Stephens

LOS ANGELES, CA, USA - She has been one of the most promising young stars on the WTA for a few years - she was the youngest player in the year-end Top 100 in 2011 and the youngest player in the year-end Top 50 in 2012, in fact the only teenager in that Top 50. But when you really get down to it, who is Sloane Stephens? Find out this Sunday night on the Tennis Channel.

Following last weekend's feature on Top 10 star Petra Kvitova, potential Top 10 star Stephens is the focus of this week's Tennisography feature by the Tennis Channel, covering the past, present and future of the American rising star.

"I'm really excited about my tennis because it's only the beginning - I have a really, really long ways to go," the 19-year-old Stephens says in the video. "Hopefully I can keep improving and doing better - so I'm excited."

After reaching her first WTA quarterfinal at Carlsbad in 2011, Stephens reached her first two WTA semifinals in 2012, at Strasbourg and Washington DC, and also her first Grand Slam second week at Roland Garros. She went as high as No.36 on October 8 and finished No.38 on the November 5 year-end rankings.

Watch the Tennis Channel this Sunday, December 9, at 7pm EST (4pm PST).
