Cali Gets WTA $125 Event For 2013

ST. PETERSBURG, FL, USA - The WTA has announced Cali, Colombia, as the third WTA $125 tournament on the 2013 calendar.
The event will be played on clay the week of February 11, one week prior to the WTA's International Tournament in the Colombian capital of Bogotá.
Cali will offer $125,000 in prize money and will feature a 32-player singles main draw, 16-player singles qualifying draw and 16-team doubles draw. The singles champion will be awarded 160 ranking points.

"With three new events in South America scheduled for 2013, the growth of the sport in the continent continues to be a priority for the WTA."

The first two WTA $125 tournaments were played in October and November 2012 in Chinese Taipei and Pune, India, and the WTA plans to continue to grow this series in 2013, providing additional playing opportunities for its athletes while showcasing women's tennis in emerging markets.
