PLZEN, Czech Republic - It was a breakthrough season in both singles and doubles for Andrea Hlavackova, and now she's hoping to succeed in another realm - charity. The Czech has started the Andrea Hlavackova Foundation, a foundation to raise funds for the families of handicapped children, and to help battle social isolation and other issues those children and their families face each day.

On Saturday, December 8, Hlavackova held a Kids Day alongside her loyal doubles partner Lucie Hradecka, with 40 kids coming to play. A VIP tennis tournament took place in the afternoon featuring both professional and amateur doubles teams. Everyone had a lot of fun, including Hlavackova.

"All of our guests had so much fun and stayed for dinner, too - it was great," Hlavackova said. "I introduced them all to my foundation and the projects I'm supporting, and they all took part in charity auctions. In total we made $25,000, which is huge for my project and foundation!"

Hlavackova was one of the breakthrough stars of the 2012 doubles season, winning four WTA titles alongside Hradecka, in addition to another five finals - including Wimbledon, the Olympics, US Open and WTA Championships. She ended the year as the No.3-ranked doubles player in the world.
