DOHA, Qatar - Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci continued their recent dominant play with a routine victory in the second round of the Qatar Total Open on Wednesday.

Errani and Vinci never faced a break point in their 47-minute, 62 62 defeat of Kristina Barrois and Eleni Daniilidou. That put their winning streak at 11 matches, consisting of titles at the Australian Open and Paris [Indoors], a match in Fed Cup action last weekend and their Doha opener.

The WTA's No.1-ranked team has only had one longer streak in its partnership, having reeled off 25 straight last year, the best win streak by a duo since Gigi Fernández and Natasha Zvereva won 28 matches in a row in 1994.

Other seeds advancing to the quarterfinals included second-seeded Nadia Petrova and Katarina Srebotnik and third-seeded Raquel Kops-Jones and Abigail Spears.

Petrova and Srebotnik were 63 62 winners over Tamira Paszek and Klara Zakopalova, and Kops-Jones and Spears got past Shuko Aoyama and Megan Moulton-Levy, 62 46 105. The Americans were unseeded finalists here a year ago, but now surprise no one with deep runs into tournaments after capturing four titles last year en route to falling just short of qualifying for the TEB BNP Paribas WTA Championships - Istanbul 2012.

First round winners included No.7 seeds Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka and Daniela Hantuchova and Anabel Medina Garrigues, who knocked off No.5 seeds Hsieh Su-Wei and Liezel Huber in a match-up featuring former Doha champions. Hantuchova was victorious in 2006 alongside Ai Sugiyama and Huber won last year with Lisa Raymond.

Speaking of Raymond, she is among those on Thursday's schedule, as she will take the court with Samantha Stosur for a second round match-up against Janette Husarova and Zhang Shuai. Raymond and Stosur have not paired up much in recent years but have an illustrious history together, with 20 titles - including two Grand Slams and two WTA Championships.
