The second-seeded teams were victorious in both of last week's International events in Memphis and Bogotá, with Kristina Mladenovic and Galina Voskoboeva capturing the US National Indoor Tennis Championships and Timea Babos and Mandy Minella winning the Copa Claro Colsanitas.

Read about action from last week's other WTA doubles event in Dubai.

Both duos did not drop a set all week, the first teams all year to accomplish that feat at a WTA event.

Mladenovic and Voskoboeva's first outing together gave Mladenovic her third WTA doubles title and Voskoboeva her fourth. Mladenovic's titles have come with three different partners and Voskoboeva's with four.

As for Babos and Minella, Bogotá was their sixth WTA event together and first title. Their previous best showing was a run to the final in Hobart earlier this year.

Babos and Minella's victims in the Bogotá final were defending champions and No.1 seeds Eva Birnerova and Alexandra Panova. That broke a seven-match string of No.1 seeds beating No.2 seeds at WTA events:

'12 's-Hertogenbosch: (1) Errani/Vinci d. (2) Kirilenko/Petrova
'12 Palermo: (1) Voracova/Zahlavova Strycova d. (2) Jurak/Marosi
'12 New Haven: (1) Huber/Raymond d. (2) Hlavackova/Hradecka
'12 Linz: (1) Groenefeld/Peschke d. (2) Goerges/Zahlavova Strycova
'12 Moscow: (1) Makarova/Vesnina d. (2) Kirilenko/Petrova
'12 Luxembourg: (1) Hlavackova/Hradecka d. (2) Begu/Niculescu
'13 Doha: (1) Errani/Vinci d. (2) Petrova/Srebotnik

Bogotá was Babos' second WTA doubles title and Minella's first WTA title of any kind. She is the fourth player so far this season to pick up her first WTA title:

Garbiñe Muguruza: Hobart doubles
María-Teresa Torró-Flor: Hobart doubles
Casey Dellacqua: Pattaya City doubles
Mandy Minella: Bogotá doubles
