VANCOUVER, Canada - Since retiring from the WTA, five-time Grand Slam champion and former World No.1 Martina Hingis has been keeping very busy, and this past week she and Vancouver-based fashion house Tonic Lifestyle Apparel launched a new line of stylish yet practical tennis apparel.

"When you go out to play tennis, you want to feel nice," Hingis said of Friday's announcement. "You want to feel like a woman and know that your clothes won't let you down. What's so great about this line is its versatility and comfort, making it wearable from the club to the professional level."

While casually browsing in a sports store in Chelsea, Hingis was struck by the Tonic clothes. After wearing the Tonic clothes for the first time at Wimbledon back in 2010, the Swiss legend suggested the idea of launching a tennis line of Tonic clothing. "We found a real solution to beauty, comfort and femininity," Hingis commented. "It's great to create a line like this. And I think that today it is also important that we go back to the classics - to the tradition of the sport. I always appreciate that."
