INDIAN WELLS, CA, USA - The last of the doubles quarterfinal berths were secured at the BNP Paribas Open Monday, with one of them going to No.6 seeds Nuria Llagostera Vives and Zheng Jie.

Llagostera Vives and Zheng were 76(2) 63 winners over Irina-Camelia Begu and Alicja Rosolska.

"It's fun playing with her," Llagostera Vives said. "We get along very well, and we are good friends, which is important. We communicate a lot when we are on court, which makes the work easy.

"We play really similar. We both are really aggressive from the baseline and we return well. This is our fourth tournament this year, and I think we are improving every tournament."

Next up for Llagostera Vives and Zheng are third-seeded Nadia Petrova and Katarina Srebotnik, whom they managed just one game against at their last event in the Dubai semifinals.

"It's a good challenge for us because in Dubai a few weeks ago, we played a bad match and lost easily, so it can't be worse than that," Llagostera Vives said. "We need to talk about what we did wrong and focus on playing better in this one."

Also victorious in the second round were Daniela Hantuchova and Anabel Medina Garrigues and Chan Hao-Ching and Janette Husarova.

Hantuchova and Medina Garrigues cruised past Cara Black and Anastasia Rodionova, 61 63, to set up an encounter against Hsieh Su-Wei and Peng Shuai - the second round conquerors of top-ranked Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci.

Chan and Husarova rallied from 64 31 down for a 46 63 105 triumph over Marina Erakovic and Heather Watson. Fourth-seeded Russians Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina await them in the quarters.
