Stats Corner: Indian Wells-Miami Double
Steffi Graf

MIAMI, FL, USA - Two of the WTA's biggest events of the year, Indian Wells and Miami, follow each other on the calendar. Winning one of them is tough enough, for they attract elite fields and with their almost two-week durations feature a similar grind to a Grand Slam. But winning both the same season is exceptionally hard, as evidenced by the fact only two players have pulled it off. This year's Indian Wells champion, Maria Sharapova, is trying to make that list grow to three players.
