Quotable Quotes: Azarenka & Errani
Sara Errani

PARIS, France - Two very different personalities, two very different experiences - Victoria Azarenka and Sara Errani met the press after the French Open semifinals. Here's a taste of what they said...

Victoria Azarenka
On her match against Sharapova...
"I have to give her credit. It was a difficult match; a lot of things were not going my way. But I think overall it was a pretty good match. I mean, I did so much better than last year, and I have to be pleased about that. I'm not very happy about today's match of course, but I think it was a good fight."

On anticipating the Sharapova serve...
"You just have to focus on the return, but the serve is definitely something you never know what to expect. I felt like sometimes I just wasn't committing enough. But it's a learning process. This is something that is just going to make me play better. I know the things that I have to work on now."

On the half hour rain delay after the second set...
"I think the break kind of changed the momentum, for sure. When I broke back I didn't start the same way I was playing in the second set. I was just trying to make things happen too quick and I started missing the ball. It was a little bit unfortunate and inconsistent in that particular moment."

On the rhythm she gets against Sharapova...
"Well, there's not much rhythm when we play each other. We just try to take our opportunities - it's whoever takes it first. So you cannot be looking for the rhythm. It's just who takes it first."

On the bright side...
"I'm disappointed about the match and what happened out there, but overall I have to give myself credit for going one step further. Even though I lost today, I still tried to come back and to make something happen, which before was much more difficult for me. So this French Open is definitely the best one so far for me. I know I will have to keep working hard. But right now I just want to forget it."

On whether she's going to kick the clay out of her house now...
"Oh, no, no, no, definitely not. It's just something that's going to make me stronger, for sure, I think that coming back next year it's going to be a different story."

On whether she thinks she can win Roland Garros one day...
"Oh, sure - but not this year."

Sara Errani
On what happened against Serena...
"Nothing. She played unbelievable. That's it. When she plays like this, it's difficult."

On whether she can take anything positive away from the match...
"Yeah, for sure. I enjoyed playing today. Nobody else would probably say that, but I enjoyed it. It was a great court, great weather, great everything. But what she did today is unbelievable. She's very strong. She's an unbelievable player. She had a great day. I tried my hardest, but this is sport - sometimes you try and you lose. I realized I couldn't do anything out there, but it was important to stay there and keep trying. I tried until the last point, but there was just nothing I could do against Serena today."

On what it would take to beat Serena...
"If she had one bad day, maybe I could. You have to do your best, for sure. You have to have one of your best days and you have to try to think she can have a bad day. You can try to win like that."
