Quotable Quotes: Serena The Day Before
Serena Williams

PARIS, France - Serena Williams goes into the French Open final on 30-match winning streak, the longest of her career and third-longest of the millennium. Check in with her ahead of the big match.

On how she will prepare for the final on Friday...
"I'm just going to do what I have been doing every day: just hit some balls, focus on what I want to work on, and just get ready and get prepared. And then I'll go out and do the best I can tomorrow."

On the variety in her game...
"It feels good to hit volleys. I'm not a player that runs to the net all the time, so it feels really good to be able to hit some good volleys. Sometimes I'm surprised - I'm like, 'Is that me?' But, you know, I used to hit a lot of drop shots when I was younger. I'm just going back to the young days, I guess."

On whether winning the title in 2002 has been in her mind lately...
"Not at all. I honestly don't remember anything about that match, to be completely honest. I don't think about it. I just think about the task at hand and the match at hand."

On what a second French Open title would mean to her...
"It would be awesome for me. I don't think there's anything that can describe how happy I would be. But right now it's still a dream - I still have another match to play, hopefully to win."

On her game plan going into the final...
"I don't know. I can't sit here and say I'm not trying to be aggressive after my semifinal match - that would be kind of weird. I just do me. If that's aggressive, that's me. If it's running balls down, I'm going to do that. I don't really think about it too much. I'm just - I just do it, you know."

On whether she gets confidence from winning 12 in a row against Sharapova...
"Not really right now, because it's a different time, a different era - just a different match. It's a brand new match, so I don't take that into consideration. I just have to do the best that I can."

On how it will feel to play Sharapova at Roland Garros...
"Oh, it will really feel special. I have never played Maria here actually, so it will be our first time playing here. It will be a great match for both of us, I think. We're both doing so well and we both really want to win. We're both really excited to be this far. I think it's going to be a really great match."

On whether she feels comfortable on the courts of Roland Garros...
"Yeah. Incidentally, I have always felt really comfortable. I just haven't done great. But I have always felt really good here."

On what has changed this year...
"I didn't lose in the first round."
