Quotable Quotes: Tricky, Sweet, Fierce
Victoria Azarenka

PARIS, France - Which players did Serena Williams deem tricky, sweet and fierce? What's the best part about being Victoria Azarenka? Why is Sloane Stephens going to write a letter to Häagen-Dazs?

Serena Williams on Paris...
"It's been great. I'm here a lot. When I come here I stay at my place and I'm just living a normal life. I'm training and then I go to sleep, so I feel like I have a lot more ties to this city and this country because of that. I'm familiar with the area and the surroundings. I have always had a wonderful relationship with Paris - incidentally, the first tournament I ever won was here. I've always just loved this city."

Williams when asked to come up with one word for each of the Italian players...
"Vinci, tricky. Schiavone, I love her - she has such a great personality. And Errani is really sweet."

And Williams on herself?

Maria Kirilenko on pushing Serena to three sets at Roland Garros back in 2004...
"It was a long time ago but I remember it. And I can't imagine I was so little and I played three sets with Serena - because now for the last couple of years I couldn't win more than two or three games."

Victoria Azarenka on the most fun thing about being her...
"Just playing tennis. I'm like a kid when I walk on the court. I'm so fortunate to do something I've loved from a young age, and I get to play in front of so many people, travel the world - even though I don't see much except tennis courts. But different countries, different tennis courts. I'm just happy to live in the moment. My life took me to be Victoria Azarenka, so that's probably the best part."

Azarenka on whether she was destined to become a champion with the name Victoria...
"Well in that case my grandmother was the one who did it, because it was her choice. My mom and dad wanted a different name that I don't like, so I'm glad she stepped up and said, 'No, it's Victoria.'"

Azarenka on what that other name was...

Sloane Stephens on Häagen-Dazs...
"In Europe they have this flavor. I don't know what's wrong with Häagen-Dazs. They have a flavor here they don't have in the United States. It's called Macadamia Nut Brittle. It's my favorite, and they don't have it in the States. I have to get it here every day because they don't have it in the US."

Stephens when told the flavor is also in England...
"Do they? So yeah, it's in all of Europe but not the US. I'm going to write them a letter."

Stephens on if she could magically change one thing from between Australia and now...
"That boys weren't so stupid."

And Stephens on the one thing she would take from Paris back to Los Angeles...
"The entire Eiffel Tower."

Maria Sharapova on missing home while in Europe...
"I miss a lot of things, but I'm doing well. I have Skyped with my dog and my dad."

Sharapova on whether her dog responds over Skype...
"When I call his name, his ears go up. Yeah, the only time I want to Skype with my dad is when I want to see my dog. Sorry, dad."

Sharapova on Nadal's birthday cake...
"I saw Nadal finish his match, and that was a pretty cool cake he received. I was a little bit jealous. I was like, 'He's not 30 yet; he's 27. And he gets that great of a cake.'"
