LONDON, England - The WTA has introduced new technology into sports as Bethanie Mattek-Sands heads into Wimbledon wearing Google Glass. Mattek-Sands is a Glass Explorer - one of the first few thousand people to use Glass, a computer in a frame that weighs no more than a pair of sunglasses.

Glass' potential in the sports realm is huge and it can connect athletes, coaches and fans in new ways: it allows Mattek-Sands to capture her strokes from her point of view during practice and share those with her coaches; it also helps her search recipes and perfect her cooking, something that's important to a professional athlete with dietary allergies and restrictions; and her fans can also see the world through her eyes as she embarks upon the road to Wimbledon, where she will play this fortnight.

Mattek-Sands launched a video with Google Glass on Tuesday to show how technology can connect with sports and assist professional athletes with their day to day routines. Watch the video right here!
