Victory over Cadantu was Halep's 15th in 16 matches since the French Open, a run that has seen her pick up titles in Nürnberg and 's-Hertogenbosch as well as reach a career-high ranking of No.30.
Despite a mini-fight-back in the second set, Cadantu never looked likely to upset the form book, slipping to a 62 76(1) defeat after one hour and 27 minutes. "I played really well in the first set," Halep said. "In the second, I was a little tired and she came back and made me hit a lot of balls, which made it difficult.
"She is very dangerous if you hit the ball hard, so I was trying to mix up the tactics and move her around. But I'm so happy I got through, because I was a little nervous in the end!"
Such has been Halep's consistency in 2013 that her only two defeats to players outside the Top 25 have come to Francesca Schiavone and Lourdes Domínguez Lino. Next in the firing line is World No.112 Yvonne Meusburger, and despite her stellar run, Halep is not taking anything for granted.
"The final will be a difficult match. Yvonne is playing very, very well now in this tournament. I will just try and enjoy the match and play my best."
Meusburger was particularly impressive in her semifinal, dispatching No.6 seed Chanelle Scheepers in little over an hour, 62 62.
Scheepers is the third seed Meusburger has sent packing this week and takes her record since the start of the European clay court season to 30-6. This run has seen the Austrian pick up the 13th, 14th and 15th ITF Circuit titles of her career and put her within touching distance of returning to the Top 100 for the first time in two and a half years.
"I'm feeling very good. Today was another great day for me and I really enjoy everything about playing here," Meusburger said. "I think I'm going to have a nice lunch now and just relax by the water and start preparing for the final.
"I've just been taking the positive things with me from every match. In the final, I'll keep trying to be aggressive, going for the lines and creating pressure. I'm looking forward to the final, it's going to be a tough match but hopefully I can play a good final."
