BUDAPEST, Hungary - Agnes Szavay, a former Top 15 player who was forced to retire from tennis in February due to nagging back injuries, was honored at the Hungarian Grand Prix on Sunday.

The 24-year-old Szavay had a brief but very successful career, winning five WTA titles between 2007 and 2010 (including two here in Budapest), reaching one Grand Slam quarterfinal (2007 US Open) and scoring eight Top 10 wins (the best of which came against World No.3s Jelena Jankovic and Venus Williams). She spent a full year in the Top 20 across the 2007 and 2008 seasons, peaking at No.13.

"It's a big honor for me to get this present from the WTA," Szavay said at the on-court ceremony. "It feels really good to be here. I had some of my best memories in Budapest - I won this tournament two times. My other great memories were winning in Beijing, beating Venus Williams at the French Open and playing the quarterfinals at the US Open. Also the WTA's Newcomer Of The Year award in 2007.

"I just have so many good memories of playing tennis and being on the tour."

What has Szavay been up to since calling time on her playing career? "I've started organizing camps for little kids - I want to keep going in that direction because I enjoy it and love it," she added. "I'm really enjoying staying at home. I really prefer to stay at home - I don't like travelling so much anymore.

"But you may see me at a few tournaments in the future, we will see what happens!"
