BEIJING & SUZHOU, China - In two different cities in China on Tuesday two different pressers were taking place - a tournament announcement in Suzhou and a ticket launch announcement in Beijing.

Over in Suzhou, the Chinese Tennis Association and the Suzhou city government officially announced the CAOXIYIDIJIU WTA 125K Series Suzhou Ladies Open, which will be held August 3 to 10 at the Suzhou International Tennis Center - the highest-level sporting event ever held in Suzhou to this day.

The WTA 125K Series is a stream of tournaments that was added to the WTA calendar in 2012, providing developing markets with the opportunity to showcase women's tennis, and also offering developmental opportunities for rising players. Suzhou is the first WTA 125K Series stop in China.

Anhui Ante Group is the title sponsor for the event, with a few other official partners in the mix, including Wilson as the official ball, Chevrolet as official car and Nongfu Spring as official water.

Meanwhile, over in Beijing, one of the WTA's Premier Mandatory events, the China Open, launched its global ticket sales for the 2013 tournament, which takes place from September 22 to October 6.

Chinese No.2 Peng Shuai attended the ceremony in Beijing and signed autographs for the fans, many of whom purchased tickets for the tournament in advance. Peng also spoke to the fans, giving her best wishes to the China Open, and talking about looking forward to seeing the fans again in the fall.

Peng recently won her first Grand Slam title of any kind, capturing the women's doubles at Wimbledon alongside Chinese Taipei's Hsieh Su-Wei. She was the fifth Chinese player ever to win a Grand Slam title, after Yan Zi and Zheng Jie (doubles), Sun Tiantian (mixed doubles) and Li Na (singles).
