WTA Diary: Welcome Back, Martina
Martina Hingis

Every week there's a lot happening on the WTA - on the court, off the court, by the numbers, even a few tweets... catch up on it all in this week's WTA Diary.

Welcome Back
This week sees Martina Hingis make her eagerly anticipated return to tennis. Competing alongside Daniela Hantuchova, the Swiss Miss, appearing on the WTA for the first time in six years, begins her comeback against Julia Goerges and Darija Jurak in Carlsbad.

Anne, We're Going To Miss You
While Martina is making her return to the fore, another loyal WTA servant, Anne Keothavong, is calling it a day. Last Wednesday, the Brit brought her 13-year career to a conclusion, and she was given the warmest of send offs in the Twittersphere.

Teenage Kicks
There have been plenty of column inches written this year about the WTA's latest batch of teenage talents, but until Sunday none had managed to go all the way and win a title. The player to finally make the breakthrough was Elina Svitolina, who edged out Shahar Peer in Baku.

Relive the best moments from Elina's big day in our finals photo gallery.

Debut
Fresh from her triumph in Stanford, Dominika Cibulkova is popping down the Pacific Coast Highway to defend her Carlsbad title. But before she strikes a ball in anger, the Slovak has a not insignificant off-court commitment to take care of: presenting the latest edition of the WTA Live All Access Hour presented by Xerox.

All In A Day's Work
She may not have left with the title, but Agnieszka Radwanska certainly left an impression in Stanford, wowing the crowd with jaw-dropping shot after shot after shot.

The Trappings Of Fame
There are plenty of perks that accompany fortune and glory on the tennis court, including - at least in the world of Sloane Stepehns - a never-ending supply of persimmon pies.
