Maria Sharapova topped Forbes' list of the highest-paid female athletes for the ninth straight year, a list that featured seven tennis players in its Top 10.

Sharapova's $29 million was comprised of prize money, endorsements and appearance fees earned between June 2012 and June 2013. Her endorsements include Nike, Head, Samsung Electronics, Tag Heuer, Evian and Porsche, and she also launched a candy business, Sugarpova, in 2012. Her earnings were up from the $27.1 million she made during the previous 12-month cycle.

Serena Williams ranked second on the list with $20.5 million, which consisted of $8.5 million in prize money and $12 million in endorsements with companies like Nike, Wilson, Gatorade and OPI.

The other tennis players in the Top 10 were third place Li Na with $18.2 million, fourth place Victoria Azarenka with $15.7 million, seventh place Caroline Wozniacki with $13.6 million, eighth place Agnieszka Radwanska with $7.4 million and ninth place Ana Ivanovic with $7 million.
