NEW YORK, NY, USA - Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka are into the quarterfinals of the US Open without having surrendered a set, though they overcame their toughest test so far in the only doubles match played during Wednesday's rain-shortened schedule.

Hlavackova and Hradecka's best Grand Slam run came at Roland Garros, where they won the title in 2011. However, they have been impressive at Flushing Meadows as well, with a quarterfinal outing in 2011 and run to the final in 2012 their best two showings coming into this fortnight.

The fifth-seeded Hlavackova and Hradecka's 63 76(4) defeat of Polona Hercog and Lisa Raymond not only put them into the quarters here once again, but it was their 120th WTA win as a duo. It also put an end to three-time US Open champion Raymond's 22nd appearance here.

Next up for the Czechs are No.3 seeds Nadia Petrova and Katarina Srebotnik, whom they lost to in straight sets in their only previous encounter in the Sydney semifinals in January.

Tuesday's schedule includes third round matches for the last four Grand Slam winners - 2012 US Open and 2013 Australian Open champions Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci, 2013 French Open titlists Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina and 2013 Wimbledon champs Hsieh Su-Wei and Peng Shuai.
