NEWPORT, RI, USA - Grand Slam champions Lindsay Davenport, Mary Pierce and Conchita Martínez have all been nominated to be enshrined in the International Tennis Hall Of Fame's Class Of 2014.

The nominees were announced live on the air during Thursday's US Open telecast on Tennis Channel.

"Lindsay Davenport, Mary Pierce and Conchita Martínez were three of the most exciting women's tennis players of their time," Stan Smith, who was inducted into the International Tennis Hall Of Fame in 1987 and now serves as the President & Chair of the Enshrinee Nominating Committee, declared. "They brought many fans to the sport, delivered exciting matches and achieved tremendous results."

Davenport won three Grand Slam titles in her career, at the US Open in 1998, Wimbledon in 1999 and the Australian Open in 2000, and spent 98 weeks at No.1. She was also a star on the doubles court, winning three Grand Slams there and spending 32 weeks at No.1 in the world in the team discipline.

Pierce won two Grand Slam titles, the Australian Open in 1995 and the French Open in 2000, and peaked at No.3 in the world. She also won one Grand Slam doubles title at the French Open in 2000.

Martínez won one Grand Slam title, Wimbledon in 1994, and made it as high as No.2 in the world.

Voting takes place over the next several months, with an announcement early next year to reveal the Class Of 2014. The International Media Panel, which consists of tennis journalists and authors, will vote on the Recent Player nominee. To be inducted, an affirmative vote of 75% is required.

The Class Of 2014 Enshrinement Ceremony will be hosted on Saturday, July 12, 2014 during Rolex Hall of Fame Enshrinement Weekend at the International Tennis Hall Of Fame in Newport.
