BEIJING, China - With her 26 62 60 defeat of Varvara Lepchenko in the second round of the China Open on Tuesday, Petra Kvitova recorded her 22nd three set win of the season - most on the WTA. In fact, that is tied for the most this century, and she will have a good chance to break that record since she is scheduled to play at least a couple more events this year. Here are all of those with at least 20 WTA main draw three set wins in a season since 2000:

Player 3-Set Wins Year
Anastasia Myskina 22 2002
Ai Sugiyama 22 2003
Petra Kvitova 22 2013
Elena Dementieva 21 2005
Lucie Safarova 20 2011
Angelique Kerber 20 2012

And having gone 22-11 in her three set matches this year, Kvitova has played in 33 three set matches - the most on the WTA since 2005. Here are all of those who have played in at least 30 WTA main draw three set matches since 2000:

Player 3-Set Matches Year
Patty Schnyder 36 2005
Petra Kvitova 33 2013
Anastasia Myskina 32 2002
Ai Sugiyama 32 2003
Jelena Jankovic 30 2007
Lucie Safarova 30 2011

Note: Roberta Vinci played in her 29th three set match of the year on Tuesday in Beijing and would join the above list with one more such match.
