Angelique Kerber capped off an impressive end of season run with a memorable weekend in Linz. On Friday, she defeated Patricia Mayr-Achleitner in the quarterfinals to book her place at the TEB BNP Paribas WTA Championships - Istanbul before picking up her first title of the season two days later with victory over Ana Ivanovic.

Five thousand miles away, Samantha Stosur produced a final flourish of her own to take home the Osaka title, defeating Eugenie Bouchard in the final.
