ISTANBUL, Turkey - The six WTA stars who took the court on Tuesday met the press after their matches to discuss everything from opponents to days off and the wonderful Turkish fans. Read on!

Azarenka d Errani, 76(4) 62

Sara Errani
On the injury she sustained in the first set...

"Yeah, in the tie-breaker in the first set I felt pain in my calf on the serve. I was worried because I was feeling pain. Then I called the physio, and she made a bit of treatment. Then four games on I made a smash and felt a cramp after, so I don't know. I'm just doing treatment and we'll see how it goes."

On whether she was playing one of her best matches until 5-2...
"I was playing very well. Was it my best match? I don't know. I had other matches this year that were very good, like in Paris, so I cannot say it was my best match, but for sure I was playing well."

Victoria Azarenka
On the importance of the first set...

"I was a little rusty at the beginning. It's a little bit expected after a break, and playing against a top player right away always makes it a little bit difficult because you don't have that room to adapt. So I had to make that adaptation during the match. But overall it was important to take that first set - it was a big turnaround point, to stay in the moment and find a way to win the points, and win the games.

"Now I want to think about what I can do better. Playing my second match it should already get better."

On Errani...
"Sara proved, especially the last two years, that she's a really dangerous opponent on every surface. Her results are more consistent on clay, but she's a very good fighter. She doesn't give anything away. She makes you hit a lot of balls, she can be very aggressive, she has a lot of variety, and she can come to the net. You never know what to expect, but you do know you will expect a lot of balls back."

Williams d Kerber, 63 61

Angelique Kerber
On playing Serena...

"She was playing unbelievable, and I actually had no chance. She was serving great and also returning unbelievable. I was just giving all I could, but it's tough to play against Serena like this. She's No.1 in the world, and of course she deserved to win, because today she was much better than me."

On having a day off now...
"It's good. I will go on the practice court again tomorrow and try to practice hard and prepare for my next matches. I will fight here every single match. I will give everything in every single match."

Serena Williams
On whether she feels fresh right now...

"I definitely don't feel as fresh as I did in Miami or Charleston, but I definitely feel surprisingly good."

On whether she can envision a Turkish champion tennis player in her lifetime...
"Well, there is a champion from Compton, so anything is possible, especially from Turkey."

On the fan she gave her racquet to here last year being in the front row this year...
"I keep up with him on Twitter. Yeah, he's a great guy. He's a loyal friend and fan."

Kvitova d Radwanska, 64 64

Agnieszka Radwanska
On Kvitova's game...

"Her game is a very good mix. She's a very powerful player, and when she's really on fire she can be really hard to beat. I didn't play her for a little bit, and today she was playing really well from the beginning till the end. She didn't have any bad games. Maybe in the end of the second set I could have changed that a little bit, but still, I think she was playing just too well today. A good day for her."

On her recent comment that she might have to try playing left-handed to beat Serena...
"Well, I don't know! I have a whole night to think about it."

Petra Kvitova
On why she plays so well indoors...

"That's a good question, actually. When I was young and I was practicing at home with my father in the wintertime, we always played indoors on the fast surface, and the conditions are the same - no sun or wind, so nothing interrupts my game and my aggressive, flat shots. So I think that's very helpful."

On having a day off now...
"I finished quite late today, so I'm glad that I have a day off tomorrow, so I can practice a little bit and take some rest in the afternoon and have some more energy for my next match. It's quite okay."
