Wednesday In Istanbul: 10 Things To Know
Li Na

ISTANBUL, Turkey - Every day we will bring you 10 things to look for on the court in Istanbul - stats, nuggets, upcoming milestones, head-to-heads. Get your fix on all of that for Day 2, right here.

(play begins at 5pm Istanbul time - watch live here)

(4) Li Na (CHN #5) vs (6) Sara Errani (ITA #7)
Head-To-Head: Li leads Errani, 5-0.

Li lost the first set she ever played against Errani, but has won all 10 since.
~ Errani scored a 6-4 first set against Li in the second round of the 2008 US Open, but Li has won 10 sets in a row against her now, losing a total of 17 games in those 10 sets (1.7 games per set).

Errani is 1-31 against Top 5 players.
~ Errani's only Top 5 win came against a No.4-ranked Radwanska at the French Open this year.

(2) Victoria Azarenka (BLR #2) vs (7) Jelena Jankovic (SRB #8)
Head-To-Head: Azarenka leads Jankovic, 5-3.

The last time these two played, there were 23 breaks in 27 games.
~ In Azarenka and Jankovic's only meeting in the last 21 months, Azarenka defeated Jankovic in the semifinals of Cincinnati this summer, 46 62 63 - and 23 of those 27 games were breaks of serve.

Azarenka is 110-10 against everyone except Serena since the start of 2012.
~ Since the start of 2012, Azarenka has had trouble against Serena, going 2-7 against her - but she has an incredible 110-10 record against everyone else since the start of 2012 (an 11:1 ratio).

Jankovic has four career wins over Top 2 players.
~ Jankovic's four Top 2 wins came at 2007 Birmingham (No.2 Sharapova), 2009 Cincinnati (No.1 Safina), 2009 WTA Championships (No.1 Safina - by retirement) and 2010 Rome (No.1 Serena).

Jankovic has lost her last 17 matches against Top 4 players.
~ Since beating a No.1-ranked Serena at Rome in 2010, Jankovic has lost 17 straight matches against Top 4 players. It was quite the turnaround - before that she had won 10 in a row against the Top 4.

(1) Serena Williams (USA #1) vs (3) Agnieszka Radwanska (POL #4)
Head-To-Head: Serena leads Radwanska, 7-0.

Serena's head-to-head against Radwanska is her most lopsided against anyone in the Top 17.
~ Serena has a perfect head-to-head against a lot of players, but she hasn't had more wins without a loss against anyone else in the Top 17 than No.4 Radwanska (she is 8-0 against No.18 Kirilenko).

Serena was winning the only set she ever lost to Radwanska.
~ Serena isn't just 7-0 against Radwanska, she's 14-1 in sets. Their only three-setter came in the 2012 Wimbledon final, which Serena won, 61 57 62 (she was leading 4-2 in that second set though).

Radwanska has the second-most match wins in 2013 - after Serena.
~ Radwanska has 56 match wins on the year, Serena 74 now - Kvitova is in third place with 50.

Radwanska has beaten a No.1 before - she is the only Polish woman ever to beat a No.1.
~ Radwanska beat a No.1-ranked Wozniacki in the quarterfinals of Sydney last year, 36 75 62. It was Wozniacki's second-last tournament as No.1 - she lost the top ranking after the Australian Open.
