Quotable Quotes: Istanbul, Wednesday
Victoria Azarenka

ISTANBUL, Turkey - What are Li Na and Agnieszka Radwanska's vacation plans? Who did Jelena Jankovic feel like when she was walking on the court? Check out all the best quotes from Day 2, here.

Li d Errani, 63 76(5)

Sara Errani
On how she was feeling after her calf injury the day before...

"It was difficult - I was a bit afraid to run in the beginning, and I was checking out how my leg was - but I think it was okay. I didn't have much pain. It was very tight, but no pain. That was very good."

Li Na
On her perfect record against Errani...
"All I can say is I have a lot of confidence when I play against her because I've never lost to her. But today I was a little bit surprised, because I haven't played her in about a year, and now her ball is not like before. It was always short but now it's heavier - so now I have to hit over my shoulder more. You have to play a lot of shots every point with her - at the end of the match today I felt like I really needed to finish the match, otherwise I don't know how it would have gone if we went to a third set."

On the toughest thing about this tournament...
"Because this is the last tournament of the year, in my mind I'm already thinking about vacation! But I'm still on the court. So I have to focus on my matches, but my mind is still thinking about where I'll be on vacation. It's very tough, but at the same time it's very relaxing. So for me it's fine to play here."

On what those vacation plans are...
"It's a secret."

And when pressed again for the vacation plans...
"Actually, I planned the vacation last year, but this year I have to follow my husband. He's deciding."

Jankovic d Azarenka, 64 63

Victoria Azarenka
On the match...

"There are a lot of things that didn't go well for me today - to find one in particular would be really difficult. But of course she was playing well. I think she's playing her best tennis right now. She's really improved a lot throughout the year. But I cannot sit here and say I played well - there were a lot of mistakes. I was so inconsistent with the targets, and that just doesn't work against top players.

"It's hard to keep it up sometimes. I think I have been pretty much the most consistent player the last two years, and sometimes things like this happen. It's just a bad road, and I have to go through that."

Jelena Jankovic
On the difference between their match in Cincinnati and their match here...
"We played some really good tennis off the ground in Cincinnati, but we had 23 breaks of serve. This time I was serving much better, and I took advantage of that and was pretty solid off the ground too."

On the crowd...
"I enjoy the Turkish crowd - it was my first match in front of them, and I was really excited to play out there. It's an amazing experience and an amazing atmosphere. It doesn't get better than this."

On if she feels like she proved something with the win...
"I have nothing to prove to anybody. I just enjoy what I do. Doesn't matter how many times you lose - every match is a new match, and I was given an opportunity to play against the No.2 player in the world. And if you stay positive, if you believe in yourself, I think you can achieve a lot of things.

"When I have a smile on my face, I think I get more dangerous, too."

On her serve...
"When they introduced me on the court, they said I was the player with the second most aces, or something like that. Some kind of statistic like that. I was like, 'Really?' I felt like I was Karlovic."

Serena d Radwanska, 62 64

Agnieszka Radwanska
On talking to other players about Serena...

"I was actually just laughing with Jelena Jankovic. We were saying we think it's impossible to beat her when she's on fire now. Of course we try and try. Maybe one day is going to be the day we beat her."

On her vacation plans...
"For me vacation is always beach, sun, nice weather and just lying down, doing nothing. Travelling and playing for so many months, I think doing nothing on the beach is the best thing. Of course after that I go home to have some days off there as well, and then it's time to go back on the practice court."

On who she goes on vacation with...
"Always with my sister and friends."

Serena Williams
On not letting her guard down against someone she's never lost to...

"Yeah, each time is the first time. Each time is a different meaning. Tonight was just a new meaning. You have to keep motivated. You always want to have a really good attitude to try to win."
