WTA Diary: Maria's Comeback
Maria Sharapova, Ana Ivanovic

Every week there's a lot happening on the WTA - on the court, off the court, by the numbers, even a few tweets... catch up on it all in this week's WTA Diary.

Guess Who's Back
On Friday, Maria Sharapova played her first match since August, taking on Ana Ivanovic in an exhibition in Bogotá. Although her return from injury ended in a 16 61 1210 defeat, Maria was glad to be back:

@MariaSharapova
After months of not competing, tonight was a baby step forward! I missed this so much!Thank you Colombia for such a warm welcome. #imback

Out And About With The Williamses
While Venus Williams was been busy discussing her love of karaoke with talk show host Bethenny last week, her sister Serena was indulging in slightly more high-brow pursuits.

Congratulations
… to recently retired Elena Baltacha, who married her coach Nino Severino on Sunday.

Some People Have It All
Not only is she a world class tennis player, but Daniela Hantuchova's not too bad when it comes to tickling the ivories, either.

Stepping Up
Daniela is not the only multi-talented WTA star. Flavia Pennetta and Francesca Schiavone took the floor to strut their stuff on Italy's Dancing With The Stars.

Team Serena
The latest installment of CNN's Open Court takes a look at Serena and her close-knit team.

WTA Pays Its Respects
Serena, Billie Jean King and many more took to Twitter on Friday to mourn the death of Nelson Mandela.
