The Road To Singapore Starts Now
Road To Singapore

The WTA Championships is the crown jewel event of the WTA calendar, the culmination of a season-long journey across 54 tournaments and 33 countries - and today the WTA has launched the Road To Singapore, a season-long campaign that will see the stars of the WTA through their journey from the beginning of the season right to its culmination at the WTA Championships in Singapore.

"The entire WTA organization is excited about the debut of the Road to Singapore," said WTA Chairman & CEO Stacey Allaster. "The fans of women's tennis are the lifeblood of our organization and we look forward to hosting the best WTA Championships fan experience in our history and providing extraordinary access for our fans across all platforms, creating a closer bond with the WTA stars."

With a newly-relaunched WTA Championships website, the chance to become a "Road To Singapore Insider" and enhanced editorial coverage across all platforms, you - the lifeblood of the WTA - will have the opportunity to get closer to all of your favorite stars and the WTA Championships throughout the season-long Road To Singapore journey. And among those stars is the World No.1, Serena Williams.

"I am starting my 2014 season today, but I've already made qualifying for the WTA Championships one of my biggest goals," said Serena Williams, a four-time winner at the WTA Championships. "I am really excited about the WTA Championships being held in Singapore for the first time as it's an amazing city I'd like to visit. Women's tennis is definitely growing and becoming more and more global each year."

The World No.1 is right - the WTA has become more and more global each year, particularly in Asia, which has been a strategic priority. From the opening of its Beijing office in 2008 to upgrading the China Open to a Premier Mandatory event and now adding Singapore as its most prestigious stop, 17 events will be staged in the Asia-Pacific market this year. This is the first time Asia will host the WTA Championships, and for the first time it will include fan events, legends, entertainment and more.

The WTA will host an official launch of the WTA Championships and Road To Singapore in market on Monday, January 27. A current WTA star and a WTA legend will be present - the programming details and fan experience will be revealed soon, so stay tuned for all the latest on the Road To Singapore...
