Genie Out Of The Lamp
Everything's coming up Millhouse for Eugenie Bouchard at the moment. After finishing last year with her first WTA final and as the highest-ranked teenager on tour, she's started 2014 with a bang by storming through to the last four in Melbourne.

Bouchard is the first Canadian to reach a Grand Slam semifinal in nearly 30 years (Carling Bassett-Seguso at the 1984 US Open, since you ask) and her class on the court and down-to-earth nature off it has seen her emerge as a firm crowd favorite around Melbourne Park.

No Canadian has ever made the final of a major and Bouchard will need her growing army of followers to be in full voice when she takes on last year's runner-up, Li Na, on Thursday.

Billie Jean King and Tracy Austin were just a few of the many Tweeters to congratulate Genie on making the semifinals.

I'm A Belieber
Genie has been near-faultless on the court this fortnight, but she made a regrettable unforced error in revealing the identity of her dream date to the Rod Laver crowd. Boo, indeed.

Working The Crowd
If Bouchard wants any tips on how to have the crowd eating out of the palm of her hand, she could do a lot worse than watching her upcoming semifinal foe in action.

Stand By Me
She may have lost on Tuesday, but Ana Ivanovic has made a fan out of one Liam Gallagher.

Doubles Update
Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci remained on course to defend their doubles title in Melbourne, although they've not had things all their own way en route to the semifinals. Also in the hunt are reigning French Open champs Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina, Kveta Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik and Raquel Kops-Jones and Abigail Spears.

Maria Sharapova's other half, Grigor Dimitrov, may be enjoying a fruitful time on court in Melbourne, but he would be advised to keep an eye on this silver tongued journo next time he's in the media center.
