WTA Championships Ambassador Chris Evert and Australian Open breakout star Eugenie Bouchard headed over to the ArtScience Museum in Singapore for an inspirational forum with local students.

SINGAPORE - The first stop for Chris Evert and Eugenie Bouchard on the official launch of the Road To Singapore on Monday was the ArtScience Museum for an inspirational forum with local students.

When discussing what it takes to succeed as a professional athlete, there aren't two better names in the business than Evert and Bouchard. Evert is one of the most accomplished tennis players of all time, an 18-time Grand Slam champion and former World No.1, while Bouchard has shown she could one day have those kinds of numbers too, having made it all the way to the semifinals of the Australian Open in just her fourth main draw of a Grand Slam. The Canadian is the No.1 teenager in the world.

After speaking to the kids about their own story, the two WTA stars took questions - and Bouchard, who is currently No.3 in the Road To Singapore standings, was asked about the WTA Championships.

"It's a huge tournament," Bouchard said. "The best players in the world play each other. It's exciting because each match is such a big match - you can have the No.1 player against the No.3 player in just the round robin. Every match is like the finals of a Grand Slam. It's a really interesting format.

"I'd love to play here one day. Hopefully this year - I'll work really hard to try and make it."

Bouchard was also asked about Singapore - the first ever WTA Championships venue in Asia-Pacific.

"From what I've seen so far it's a great city and it's really exciting," she said. "It's great that it's in Singapore. Having the WTA Championships here shows us that everyone plays tennis everywhere around the world. I'm from Canada, and it's so cool to see everyone so interested in tennis here and internationally. To see that this sport isn't just restricted to one area of the world is special."

The venue for the inspirational forum - the ArtScience Museum - is one of the main attractions at the Marina Bay Sands, a resort in Singapore. It's the first ArtScience museum in the world and opened its doors for the first time in 2011 and features numerous permanent and touring exhibitions.
