Sara Errani, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova

Every week there's a lot happening on the WTA - on the court, off the court, by the numbers, even a few tweets... catch up on it all in this week's WTA Diary.

Road To Singapore Update
Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova gatecrashed the Road To Singapore Top 10 after picking up the biggest title of her career, the Open GDF SUEZ, over the weekend. Also on the rise was Ekaterina Makarova, who triumphed in Pattaya City to end a three-and-a-half year title drought.

Feeling The Love
There were plenty of late nights in Paris, with the final, both semifinals and two of the quarterfinals going to three sets. Caught up amidst all of this late-night drama was French No.1 Alizé Cornet, whose quarter and semifinal encounters both stretched beyond the three-hour mark.

On the plus side, it gave her plenty of time to bond with the crowd.

"The crowd really supported its French No.1. I really wanted to be in the final here," she said after losing to Sara Errani. "I've felt such cohesion with the crowd, so much love... This is one of the first times that it is strong. People were chanting my name and it has rarely happened to me."
