Tsvetana Pironkova

Every week there's a lot happening on the WTA - on the court, off the court, by the numbers, even a few tweets... catch up on it all in this week's WTA Diary.

Shocks In Qatar
Sloane Stephens and Roberta Vinci's hopes of playing themselves into some form this week suffered setbacks when the slipped to surprise defeats against Petra Cetkovska and Tsvetana Pironkova in the opening round of the Qatar Total Open.

Road To Recovery
One player missing Doha - and every other event for the foreseeable future - is Jamie Hampton, who last week underwent her second bout of hip surgery.

Total Package

Play-ing With The Other Side
Also having a go in front of the camera has been Agnieszka Radwanska, who shot an advert for Polish telecoms company Play alongside the ATP's Jerzy Janowicz.

And The Winner Is…
Last week, the nominees for the WTA's first Shot Of The Month award were unveiled. Find out who won it here.

Ice Tiger Robson Inspires Next Generation
Laura Robson has been unveiled as 'The Big Brownie Birthday Champion'. For all you non-UK readers, here's an explanation as to what that truly magnificent title means.

And Finally…
After three days, 13 sets and countless momentum shifts, the Czech Republic finally saw off Spain in an uncharacteristically chilly Seville to join Italy, Germany and Australia in the Fed Cup semifinals.
