DOHA, Qatar - Kveta Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik upset top seeds and defending champions Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci at the Qatar Total Open to reach their first final since rekindling their doubles partnership.

Following a spell apart, Peschke and Srebotnik, who established themselves as one of the WTA's leading teams between 2010 and 2012, reunited in the off-season. After a couple of early exits, the pair rediscovered some of their old spark at the Australian Open, reaching the semifinals before falling to Errani and Vinci.

But they gained revenge on Saturday, holding their nerve to edge out the Italians, 62 36 107.

"It was a really good match and we started so well and were feeling the ball great," Srebotnik said. "But, of course, they're great fighters and came back and raised their level in the second set, so it was good tennis on both sides.

"In the super tie-break it is always one point here, one point there, and lucky we managed to win this time."

The win takes Peschke and Srebotnik through to a third final at the Khalifa Tennis Complex - they won the title in 2011 and finished runners-up at the WTA Championships during its stay in the city in 2010 - and their opponents there will be No.2 seeds Hsieh Su-Wei and Peng Shuai.

Having eased through the opening two rounds, Hsieh and Peng continued their impressive form against Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Nadia Petrova, whom they brushed aside, 63 62, in little over an hour.

"It has already been a great week and hopefully we can finish it with even more success," Peng, who on Thursday was confirmed as the new World No.1, said. "After two or three matches here, you are used to the court and the balls, and today I feel like for the first time we were really playing our best together."
