Quotable Quotes: Dubai, No.3 & 2016
Caroline Wozniacki

DUBAI, UAE - The stars of the WTA have been shining in the press room during the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships so far this week. Here's a taste of what they said, in their own words...

Jelena Jankovic on training in Dubai during the off-season...
"I trained here for a couple of weeks before Australia this year. I came here and I trained, and I also did my off-season here the year before. Our schedules are so tough on the tour and it's hard to be anywhere for too long, but whenever I have the time, I like to come and train here. I enjoy the weather, enjoy the Arabic food, enjoy the people - they're quite welcoming and I just feel right here."

Caroline Wozniacki on whether she and Rory McIlroy have set a date yet...
"We already set a lot - date, everything, location, set. I'm so excited. It's such an exciting time."

And when pressed for details...
"You never know!"

Serena Williams on whether she and Venus Williams are planning to play in Rio in 2016...
"Absolutely. That's our thing. We really want to get there."

Agnieszka Radwanska on returning to No.3 after more than 16 months at No.4 and No.5...
"I'm very happy to be No.3 again. It's better to be in the Top 4 and not No.5 when it comes to Grand Slams, because then you'll be in a different draw than the rest of the Top 4, which helps - unless you lose first week of course! But anyway it's only a few spots but it really makes a big difference."

Sara Errani on defending her finals points from last year...
"It's a bit of pressure to defend points, but it's normal - you defend points throughout the year. So you just play your game and see what happens. Also, this year is an unbelievable draw - it's not going to be easy to do what I did here last year - so I'm just going to go match by match, and we'll see."

Sabine Lisicki on how her coaching relationship with Martina Hingis came about...
"Oh, I have known her for years. I used to practice with her mother when I was a little girl, and I actually practiced with her when she was still a player and I was a little girl and I was looking up to her. And she knows me since I was a little girl as well. So I think it's a good connection, because she also understands how it is to be in a situation like this, where some other people might not."

Ana Ivanovic on getting back to the top of the game...
"Well, the thing is that I really feel like I'm still improving in some areas. That's my goal. I want to back up my good results and my good victories - that's something I was lacking a little bit in the past few years. That's something you need in order to be a top player. That's what my goal is. So I really just want to keep my head down, appreciate these kinds of victories and hopefully reach the sky."

Simona Halep on the Achilles injury that forced her to retire first round...
"You cannot run, you cannot stop at the balls - it's not easy. In the semifinals in Doha last week I thought I would have to stop, but I wanted to do everything I could there, because it was the last matches. And then I wanted to try here, because I like to fight for my chances, but I just couldn't - after one set I realized it was too dangerous to continue. I was feeling the pain even more today.

"The physio said I should be okay after 10 days' break. So I will go home celebrate my tournament with my family and my friends, and just take a few days off. I cannot train with the injury. I might do swimming. I have to do physiotherapy and ultrasounds, things like that, and we'll see how that goes."
