WTA Diary: The Draw's Out
Li Na

Every week there's a lot happening on the WTA - on the court, off the court, by the numbers, even a few tweets... catch up on it all in this week's WTA Diary.

The Draw's Out
Serena Williams' absence from Indian Wells means that Li Na will line up as top seed for the first time at a Premier Mandatory event. And the draw has not been kind, placing her Australian Open final victim, Dominika Cibulkova, Petra Kvitova, Sabine Lisicki, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Ekaterina Makarova and last weekend's Florianopolis champ Klara Zakopalova in her quarter.

Here's the draw in full.

Draw Challenge

Grand Opening
The BNP Paribas Open has strengthened its claims to the title of tennis' 'fifth major' by unveiling a new, 8,000-capacity Stadium 2.

The Climb
Serena may not be playing in Indian Wells but that won't stop her leapfrogging Monica Seles into fifth place on the all-time list for weeks spent at No.1.

Big Day
Not only was yesterday World Tennis Day but it also saw the announcement of this year's inductees into the International Tennis Hall Of Fame.

Tough Start
It's fair to say, 2014 has not gone entirely to plan for Petra Kvitova, who's been blogging about her difficult start on her website.

Talking Of Which
In case you missed it, Garbiñe Muguruza's blog from Florianopolis last week is also well worth a read.

Party Rockers
Victoria Azarenka and Serena Williams put their rivalry to one side over the weekend to join forces with Gaël Monfils and Redfoo for a slightly rough around the edges rendition of Party Rock Anthem.
