WTA Diary: The Next Big Rivalry?
Simona Halep

Every week there's a lot happening on the WTA - on the court, off the court, by the numbers, even a few tweets... catch up on it all in this week's WTA Diary.

Match
On Tuesday, Indian Wells hosted the first of surely many meetings between Simona Halep and Eugenie Bouchard. Round one went to Halep, who pulled herself off the canvas to prevail in a high-quality, final set shootout.

Here's the best bits from Halep's 62 16 64 triumph.

Don't Worry, Be Happy
What's Simona's top tip for tennis success? Don't stress.

"It's important to feel good on the court, and not to feel too much stress, as when you're stressed you can't move your body," Halep told The Tennis Space. "I've had those experiences when I can't move my body or hit the ball, and that's because I'm too stressed. Just try to enjoy it, and don't think about the results. If you're more relaxed on court, you can play your best tennis."

Under The Weather?
Jelena Jankovic may have been suffering from a virus, but it didn't seem to bother her too much in her battle of the former champions with Caroline Wozniacki, whom she brushed aside for the loss of just four games.

Going Strong
BNP Paribas has strengthened its ties to tennis and the WTA by agreeing to continue as title sponsor of the WTA Championships for the next five years.

Nibbles At Nobu
Petra Kvitova's visit to the desert may not have ended with her picking up the silverware, but she did leave for Miami with a new skill up her sleeve.

Love The Dress
Serena Williams isn't playing in Indian Wells but she's clearly been keeping an eye on her rivals' form and fashion sense.
