Zheng Wushuang Wins Junior Wildcard

One of the many bright young faces that could be part of the Asian tennis boom - Zheng Wushuang - has won a wildcard into the French Open junior competition.

BEIJING, China - Fifteen-year-old Chinese Zheng Wushuang will be heading to Roland Garros in a few weeks, having won the junior wildcard play-off event organized by the China Open.

Seeded No.1, Zheng beat No.2-seeded Gao Xinyu in straight sets, 63 61, to secure her second straight Grand Slam junior wildcard, having also received a wildcard into the Australian Open this year.

Zheng has played mostly in the junior circuit up until now. Her only professional-level event came in Huzhu, China last summer - a $25,000 ITF Women's Circuit event - where she won two rounds of qualies before falling in the first round of the main draw in three sets to fellow Chinese Liu Chang.
