STUTTGART, Germany - World No.7 and 2013 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix semifinalist Angelique Kerber met with the press during All Access Hour ahead of this year's event and talked about a variety of subjects. Here were some of the highlights:

On Germany winning its Fed Cup semifinal last weekend: "It's amazing. We are all really excited about that. We are now in the final. We have a great team. It's great to play for Germany. It's an honor for me. It's a great experience."

On camaraderie with her Fed Cup teammates: "We know each other so well. We grew up together. We practiced at a young age together. That helps us be like a team and really support each other. Normally, you just play for yourself, but these two or three weeks of the year, it's just great to be together with your friends from your own country."

On Fed Cup pressure: "The pressure is there. That's for sure. We try to play the best tennis that we can. Our goal is to win the Fed Cup some day. Right now we are in the final, so we will try to do what Steffi and Anke and Barbara did."

On playing against fellow lefties: "It's difficult to play against a lefty. Right now there are more and more of them, like Petra and Lucie. It's definitely different, so I try to find some lefties for sparring."

On playing on clay: "I like to play on clay. Years ago it was not my favorite surface. Right now I'm moving better than before. I try to use variety, dropshots and slice on clay."

On taking the next step in Grand Slams: "The last few years I had so many experiences where I made the semis or quarters of a Grand Slam. Experience will help me to go one more step. Of course, I'm trying to work on my serve. I think there's room for improvement there. I think I just need to keep trying to play my best tennis on the practice court and fight. I hope someday that I'll get a big win!"
