How/When did you start hosting: I studied broadcast journalism in college and eventually got a gig in my hometown as a reporter for the NBC-affiliate in Minneapolis. From there, I was on the road with ESPN covering college football and have since worked with the likes of Yahoo!, CBS, E!, AXS TV, CNN, and SHAPE. Adding WTA to my journey has been a pretty amazing dream come true!
Is this what you always wanted to do? I've known I wanted to work in broadcasting since I was around 12 years old. Embarrassingly enough, I used to practice my interviewing skills with a hairbrush as a microphone in my living room. Thankfully now the microphone is real, but the practicing will probably never stop…
Do you play tennis? I'm a tennis fanatic! I actually didn't start playing until I was 14, but I worked really hard and made it to my high school varsity team (Go Mustangs!) within one season. I went on to play for the University of St. Thomas while in college and I haven't stopped since. My serve needs a little work but for me, there's nothing better than crushing a forehand down the line.
Stops for WTA Live this year: We have so many incredible stops on the itinerary this year. So far we've covered Indian Wells, Miami, Charleston, and Stuttgart. Next up is Wimbledon, Cincinnati, Montreal, and Singapore -- woo hoo! I feel so blessed to be able to travel to such exciting tournaments and be a small part along the Road to Singapore with all of our talented athletes. It's truly an honor.
Best moment on tour so far? Ah, too many to describe! Busting some dance moves with Aga, hoola-hooping with JJ, talking fashion with Masha, shooting hoops with Serena, and trying for a hole-in-one with Genie…so many awesome times. We have such a blast on the show and I hope all the fans have fun watching, too.
3 words to describe you: Hard-working, energetic, fun!
What you're most looking forward to with the WTA and our athletes? I'm still taking it all in! I have to pinch myself every time we finish shooting the show. To be able to get to know all the diverse, wonderful personalities of our powerhouse athletes behind the scenes is truly the best job ever! And I have a fantastic team at WTA to work with, which is the icing on the cake -- and the sugar on the Sugarpova.
