Azarenka Withdraws From Madrid & Rome

Victoria Azarenka, a former World No.1 currently ranked No.4 in the world, announced she will miss Premier-level stops in Madrid and Rome due to her ongoing struggles with a foot injury.

Victoria Azarenka's 2014 season has hit yet another road block, as the former World No.1 - and current World No.4 - had to pull out of scheduled stops in Madrid and Rome due to an ongoing foot injury.

Azarenka posted a Vine video through Twitter announcing the upcoming withdrawals to her fans:

Since a strong start to 2014, reaching the finals of Brisbane and the quarterfinals of the Australian Open, Azarenka has played just one match, dropping her opener at Indian Wells (to Lauren Davis). She has withdrawn from all other scheduled stops with of the injury - Doha, Miami, Monterrey.

Last year the Belarusian reached the second round of the Mutua Madrid Open in Madrid and the final of the Internazionali BNL d'Italia in Rome, a total of 700 ranking points - Simona Halep, currently at No.5 in the world, is just over 700 points behind her.
