OEIRAS, Portugal - For more than two decades Lisa Raymond has been travelling the world playing the biggest tennis tournaments - but this week she's playing in Portugal for the very first time.

Raymond played her first professional tournament at age 15 in 1989, two years before graduating from high school. Her third tournament was the 1989 US Open - she qualified for the main draw.
Though she is now playing exclusively in doubles, Raymond achieved a lot in singles in her career. She has four WTA titles and twice reached the quarterfinals of Grand Slams - Wimbledon in 2000 and the Australian Open in 2004. She has had wins over some of the WTA's all-time greats, including Arantxa Sánchez-Vicario, Monica Seles, Martina Hingis and Venus Williams. She peaked at No.15.
The American is one of the all-time greats herself in doubles, though. She has 79 WTA doubles titles to her name, which puts her in sixth place on the all-time list, and among those are six Grand Slam doubles titles - she actually holds the Career Doubles Grand Slam, having won each Grand Slam at least once in doubles. Additionally, she has five Grand Slam mixed doubles titles to her name.
In singles and doubles combined she has played nearly 1800 career matches, with a combined 1194 career match wins. This week she's competing in her 460th career tournament, making her first appearance at the Portugal Open alongside Liezel Huber - they won their opener on Monday.
