MADRID, Spain - Fresh off winning her first WTA title of the year at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart, Maria Sharapova is already at the Mutua Madrid Open and had her first practice session of the week Wednesday at the Premier Mandatory-level event's state-of-the-art venue, the Magic Box.

Sharapova missed the inaugural Mutua Madrid Open in 2009 during her shoulder injury lay-off, but she has played the tournament every year since 2010 and has done better every year - first round in 2010, third round in 2011, quarterfinals in 2012 and the final in 2013 (falling to Serena Williams).
