WTA Insider: Vekic Tours Real Madrid

WTA rising star Donna Vekic, a longtime fan of Real Madrid, visited the team's stadium - the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu - and WTA Insider was there all the way.

MADRID, Spain - Fresh off the first WTA title of her career in Kuala Lumpur, WTA rising star Donna Vekic stepped away from the Magic Box at the Mutua Madrid Open on Friday for a tour of the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, the soccer stadium owned by the world famous Real Madrid Club de Futbol.

Vekic, a fan of Real Madrid since she was just a toddler, went on a behind-the-scenes tour of the stadium, visiting the team's training facilities, press room, locker room and benches. The visit took place just ahead of the team's Champions League Final against Atletico Madrid later this month.

With one of the biggest tennis tournaments of the year also taking place now - the Mutua Madrid Open, a Premier Mandatory-level event on the WTA and a Masters 1000 event on the ATP World Tour - Madrid has all kinds of global attention on it at the moment and is at the center of the sporting world.
