Madrid Draw Challenge Champ Named
WTA Draw Challenge

Madrid, the third event of the inaugural WTA Draw Challenge, has concluded, and it was another dead heat and dramatic finish.

If you haven't done so already, you can register for the WTA Draw Challenge right here!

Five competitors tied for first place with an impressive 50 correct selections out of a possible 64. So it went to a tie-break of who picked the tournament champion correctly, and Rjgib101670 was the only one to correctly choose Maria Sharapova and therefore is the Event Champion.

Rjgib101670 got off to a strong start, hitting on 25 of 32 first round picks. Those included Samantha Stosur's upset of Dominika Cibulkova and Lucie Safarova's mildly surprising win over Flavia Pennetta.

Rjgib101670's second round featured 11 correct selections out of a possible 16, once again accurately picking Stosur and Safarova to advance.

In the third round, Rjgib101670 really did some damage, hitting on seven of eight. And from there, they were perfect, accurately picking semifinalists Petra Kvitova, Simona Halep, Agnieszka Radwanska and Maria Sharapova; finalists Halep and Sharapova and champion Sharapova.

The race to be Season Champion also remains extremely tight. Adriano, who was Event Champion in Miami, is in first place with 180 points - with four participants within five points of the lead.

Rome is underway, and later in the season you can also make your picks for Montréal, Cincinnati, Wuhan, Beijing and the BNP Paribas WTA Championships Singapore presented by SC Global.
