Halep To Rise To World No.4

Simona Halep will rise from No.5 to No.4 on the WTA Rankings next week, another new career-high. Who are some famous former World No.4s? Test your memory!

ROME, Italy - Despite having to withdraw mid-tournament from the Internazionali BNL d'Italia due to an abdominal injury, Simona Halep will overtake Victoria Azarenka on the new rankings next Monday, going from No.5 to No.4 in the world - not just a new career-high, but also raising the bar on her own national ranking record (the previous-highest-ranked Romanian was Irina Spirlea, who got to No.7).

Also, next Monday's rankings are the ones that will be used for the French Open seeds - so Halep is guaranteed not to face Serena Williams, Li Na or Agnieszka Radwanska until the semis at the earliest.

Halep is the 56th player in the history of the WTA to break the Top 4 on the WTA Rankings.

Though she could obviously go higher, starting next week her career-high will be No.4 in the world - so we thought we'd take a quick look at some other players who had the same career-high...
