WTA Diary: Bartoli Takes High Road

Back To Winning Ways
Eugenie Bouchard eased past Barbora Zahlavova Strycova in Nürnberg to snap a three-match losing streak. She's also made it onto a list of the world's 50 most marketable sports stars, compiled by UK magazine SportPro.

Early Exit
Victoria Azarenka, who has been laid low since Indian Wells with a foot injury, revealed via Twitter on Sunday night that she will also miss the upcoming French Open.

High Ground
Marion Bartoli is clearly willing to forgive and forget with John Inverdale, whom she's teaming up with for ITV's French Open coverage.

"I'd known John a long time, and I knew what he was trying to say. At the end of the day I am a tennis player, I know I'm not 6ft tall, I'm not the same long, lean shape as Maria Sharapova, but the beauty of tennis is that anyone can win, tall or short. Something the press took to be negative to me was a positive," Bartoli said in a joint interview with Inverdale for the Radio Times.

Farewell Bally
Laura Robson, Anne Keothavong and Tim Henman were among those who came to pay their respects at Elena Baltacha's funeral on Monday.

A day earlier, Robson and Keothavong held a clinic attended a clinic attended by 70 kids at Baltacha's academy in Ipswich.
