Heading into the French Open, which begins Sunday, the prevailing question on the women's side is will defending champion Serena Williams step onto the red clay of Court Philippe Chatrier fully present in both body and mind, like she was recently in winning titles in Miami and Rome?

Or will she be vulnerable, like she was in losing to Jana Cepelova in her Charleston opener?
