WTA Stars Honored As ITF World Champs

Serena Williams, Sara Errani, Roberta Vinci and Belinda Bencic were all recognized for feats achieved during the 2013 season.

PARIS, France - Several WTA stars were among those honored on Tuesday night for achievements in 2013 at the ITF World Champions Dinner at the Pavillon d'Armenonville.

World No.1 Serena Williams was recognized as 2013 ITF World Champion for singles, Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci as doubles champions and WTA Rising Star Belinda Bencic as junior champion.

Williams won Wimbledon, the US Open and the WTA Championships among her 11 WTA-level titles in 2013. Errani and Vinci's 2013 doubles season included a triumph at the Australian Open. Seventeen-year-old Bencic won the 2013 French Open and Wimbledon junior titles.

Also honored during the dinner were Australian doubles legends Todd Woodbridge and Mark Woodforde with the Philippe Chatrier Award, Novak Djokovic as men's singles champion, Bob and Mike Bryan as men's doubles champions, Alexander Zverev as boys junior champion, Shingo Kunieda and Aniek van Koot as wheelchair champions and Heide Orth as the Seniors Award winner.

The event was hosted by former British Davis Cup player Andrew Castle, with ITF President Francesco Ricci Bitti presenting the awards, and with the trophies designed by internationally recognized sculptor Laurence Broderi.
