Baltacha Recognized With Fed Cup Award

The ITF has paid tribute to Elena Baltacha by posthumously awarding her its Lifetime Fed Cup Heart Award.

Following her death last month, tributes flooded in from around the world of tennis for Elena Baltacha - one of the game's true fighters. At Roland Garros on Wednesday, the ITF became the latest to honor the Brit, posthumously awarding her its Lifetime Fed Cup Heart Award.

Fed Cup stalwart Baltacha, made her debut in the competition back in 2002, going on to appear in 39 ties, and winning 33 of her 49 rubbers.

Tennis journalist Simon Cambers, writing for Scottish newspaper The Herald, was in the French capital for the presenting of the award.
