Maria Sharapova used to be far from her best on clay, with her power blunted by the soft dirt.

But she has come a long way in recent years, the latest evidence of that being a three set victory over Simona Halep in a thrilling French Open final on Saturday for her second title at Roland Garros.

Sharapova has been especially lethal in three-setters on clay, having now won 20 straight.
