Following England manager Roy Hodgson's decision not to select Andy Carroll, Sloane Stephens could be forgiven for giving the World Cup a wide berth this summer.

However, as Sports Illustrated reports, the patriotic side of the young American - and her friendship with US striker Jozy Altidore - could yet see her become swept up in World Cup fever.
