LONDON, England - Ana Ivanovic continued her recent run of good form with a straight set win over Zheng Jie in the second round of Wimbledon.

The Plot
Since reaching the semifinals in 2007, Ivanovic has not had much joy at the All-England Club, winning 11 matches in six visits. However, she is currently playing some of the best tennis of her career and emerged as a real dark horse for this year's title when she triumphed recently on the grass of Birmingham.

The Turning Point
Against Zheng, she impressed once again, withstanding some early pressure to run out a 6-4, 6-0 winner. Both players struggled to hold serve in the opening set, but it was Ivanovic that hung on to take it.

The Serb's free-flowing game was liberated further at the start of the second. Buoyed by an early break, the winners began to flow from Ivanovic, who on match point even threw in a rare display of net-rushing, wrapping up victory with a crisp forehand volley.

Quotes
"It's been a slow, slow climb back.I feel like I've been playing a lot of matches and getting a lot of good victories this year," Ivanovic said of her ascent up the rankings. "When your ranking doesn't really resemble where your game is it's is a little bit hard to take, you know, because you put so much hard work and then you're dropping in the list.

"Actually, I'm sure it will take care of it later in the year. I don't try to think too much about that or obsess. I really try to do my work on the court, try to win the matches that I should, and to improve in each match. Then rankings take care of themselves."

What's Next
Last year's runner-up, Sabine Lisicki, lies in wait for Ivanovic, after she negotiated her own second round encounter with big-serving Karolina Pliskova in straight sets.
